For this project I was tasked with making a vase on the wheel. The flow of the vase on the outside gives the overall positive space a very hardy and robust feeling. Thus causing the negative space to feel more aggressive due to the less languid movement of the outside lines. For this project I used dark cobalt with white over it. Due to how much white I used, it give the vase a very smooth finish on the outside. Where as if I had used less it would have been more languid dripping than one solid color. On the inside of the lip of the vase I used less white so it gave it a speckled dark look slowly fading further in to just dark cobalt. The inside and the outside of the piece are very different in feelings, the outside is very calming due to the almost lavender colors, where as the inside is more aggressive because the light color fades into a dark almost black.
